Your new challenge

As a Senior Piping Engineer at CC7 Europe, you will take a leading role in the execution of complex piping and layout projects, overseeing all phases from concept design to commissioning. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with international standards.

Working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment, you will provide technical expertise in piping layout and design, guide your team in adopting innovative approaches, and coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vendors. You will also mentor junior designers, contribute to company standards, and ensure the accuracy and quality of all design documentation.

This role offers the opportunity to influence major energy and infrastructure projects, apply advanced technical knowledge, and make a tangible impact on project success while fostering team growth.

Your new challenge will include:

  • Assist in coordinating and participating in project Design Review, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, QRA and other safety workshops as required.

  • Develop Firewater and foam demand calculations, Fire Water Hydraulic modelling using PIPENET or similar tools, Firewater and foam network design (including siting of hydrants and monitors), Active fire protection system design (deluge and foam systems) for hazardous equipment, and preparation of Fire Fighting System P&IDs and layouts.

  • Develop Hazardous Area Classification layouts and schedules.

  • Assist Lead Engineer with preparation of the Technical Safety scope of work from the overall project scope of work, including planning, CTR (cost and time reports), and schedule data as required.

  • Assist in safety assessment studies such as Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modelling, Flare radiation study, Vent Radiation and Dispersion Study, and Human Factor Engineering.

  • Assist in the review of external Consultant deliverables to support project risk assessments and safety studies, including Fire Explosion Risk Assessment (FERA), Escape Evacuation and Rescue Analysis (EERA), Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Smoke and Gas, and Blast analysis.

  • Assist in technical bid evaluations and review vendor data and documents; attend technical meetings with other Engineering Disciplines, Clients, and Vendors.

  • Assist in defining HSE design safety philosophies and fire, spill & gas detection philosophies.

  • Define Fire Proofing requirements for critical structures, equipment supports, and pipe racks within the plant.

  • Perform layout safety analysis and define inter-distance requirements between equipment, units, and buildings.

  • Prepare Escape Route, Safety Signs, and Safety Equipment Layouts.

  • Prepare and coordinate Vendor-related activities such as Supply Specifications, RFQs, MTOs, and datasheets for safety, life-saving, and firefighting equipment.

  • Prepare Fire and Gas Detector Philosophy, Fire and Gas Detector Layouts, and Cause and Effect Diagrams.

What we would like from you

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Piping Engineer with strong technical depth, leadership skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. You will bring structured thinking, problem-solving ability, and a proven track record in managing complex projects in the Oil & Gas industry.

Qualifications:

  • A University degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Between 3 - 7 years of experience in the oil&gas, petrochemical, or energy industry, or an EPC environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent fields in engineering such as Mechanical, or Petrochemical, etc.

  • Professional certifications or licenses related to health, safety and environment engineering or management (optional but advantageous).

  • Minimum 3 - 7 years of working experience in Operating Companies or EPC Contractors.

  • The legal requirements to work and reside in the EU and Netherlands is desirable.

Abilities:

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, strong English writing skills for documentation and reports, proficient in English speaking for effective communication with teams and stakeholders.

  • Codes and Standards Application: Experience in interpretation of international codes and standards such as API, NFPA, European safety codes etc.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, demonstrating excellent proficiency in both spoken and written communication.

  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office Suite software and other technical software such as Pipenet, Autocad, Phast, Flaresim etc.

  • Interpersonal and Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and liaise with external subcontractors and equipment vendors. Proven communication skills to effective communicate project teams  and to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • International Experience: Experience working with international companies and licensors in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Refinery or any other sectors, demonstrating adaptability in multicultural work environments.

  • Innovative Thinking: Provide new ideas to improve the execution of work, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
