The Senior E&I Designer is responsible for the design, modelling, and preparation of detailed drawings for electrical and Instrument systems for on shore oil & gas, or industrial projects. The role involves the use of advanced 3D design software (E3D) and the development of high-quality 2D deliverables to support engineering, construction, and installation activities.
Your new challenge will include:
Prepare, Optimization and issue 2D drawings &Layout: Develop and maintain E&I layout drawings, including cable routing plans, equipment locations, and equipment arrangements. Optimize 3D modelling for efficient space utilization and constructability in offshore environments.
Develop and manage 3D (E3D) models of Instrument & power equipment, cable trays, lighting fixtures, cable trenches, and electrical equipment for substation buildings.
Material Take-Off (MTO) & Procurement Support: Perform MTO calculations to support cost estimation and procurement strategies, ensuring material selection aligns with project specifications and budget considerations.
Compliance & Standardization: Ensure all design deliverables comply with international standards (IEC, IEEE, API, ISO) and project-specific requirements. Collaborate with engineers to translate technical specifications into practical, cost-effective designs for tender submissions.
Cable routing, equipment placement, and interface designs during early-phase engineering.
Coordinate with Process engineers to gather necessary information and requirements for process designs to develop accurate and detailed PFDs and P&IDs using software tools such as AVEVA Diagram and AutoCAD.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to resolve design issues.
Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
Support design reviews and client presentations as required.
Maintain project documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Piping Engineer with strong technical depth, leadership skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. You will bring structured thinking, problem-solving ability, and a proven track record in managing complex projects in the Oil & Gas industry.
Qualifications:
At least Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5 - 10 years of experience.
For this role the EU work permit / citizenship is mandatory.
Abilities:
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, strong English writing skills for documentation and reports, proficient in English speaking for effective communication with teams and stakeholders.
Extensive hands-on experience with AutoCAD, AVEVA Engineering.
Experience with other tools such as MicroStation, SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), or similar tools are beneficial.
Strong knowledge of E&I systems, layouts, and design standards.
Ability to produce accurate 2D deliverables and detailed engineering drawings.
Ability to work closely with engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to refine design strategies.
Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
